On August 8, 2026, we mark three years since one of the most difficult days in our town’s history. We gather to honor the memories we cherish, remember those we have lost, and support one another as our community continues its journey of healing.

Parking: Parking is available along Baker Street, in the two Lahaina Surf parking lots, and in the overflow parking area at the Outlets of Maui.

Actvities

  • Memorial Shirt Decorating – Create a commemorative shirt with messages, artwork, or designs that honor loved ones, celebrate resilience, and preserve cherished memories.
  • Luminary Decorating – Personalize a luminary with names, drawings, or heartfelt messages to be displayed during the evening memorial, symbolizing hope, remembrance, and light.
  • Discover the Place Names of West Maui – Explore the rich history and cultural significance of West Maui through the traditional Hawaiian place names that tell the stories of the land and its people.
  • ʻUlu Leaf Decorating – Decorate symbolic ʻulu (breadfruit) leaves with words of hope, gratitude, remembrance, or personal reflections, contributing to a collective expression of healing and renewal.​
A powerful new theatrical production born from the voices of the community. Inspired by true stories, Lele Wale serves as a tribute to the homes, businesses, historic landmarks, and, most importantly, the cherished lives lost. Through the perspectives of first responders, community leaders, displaced families, and cultural practitioners, audiences are invited into a deeply moving exploration of grief, identity, resilience, and hope.

The Performance is $35. 
All performances will be held in the Haleakalā Ballroom at The Westin Maui Resort & Spa.
